Brave Hearts is dedicated to empowering young adults transitioning from foster care into independent adulthood. Through mentoring, education, career preparation, life skills development, and community partnerships, we provide the guidance and support needed to build successful futures.

Our programs are designed for youth and young adults who are aging out of foster care or navigating the transition to independent living. We also collaborate with families, schools, community organizations, and employers who share our commitment to supporting these young people.

Mentors provide consistent encouragement, accountability, guidance, and support while helping young adults navigate education, employment, financial decisions, relationships, and everyday life.

Each mentor completes an application, interview, background screening, orientation, and training before being matched with a participant.

Mentors and mentees are paired based on shared interests, career aspirations, personalities, and individual goals to encourage meaningful, lasting relationships.

Mentors are encouraged to commit to at least one year in order to provide stability and consistency during this important stage of a young person’s life.

No. All Brave Hearts programs are provided at no cost to eligible participants.

Yes. Volunteers support Brave Hearts through special events, fundraising, workshops, career panels, administrative assistance, community outreach, and program activities.
